Nine ladies and a lad

This morning’s adventure was the 45-minute aqua-fitness session in the huge — and warm! — pool at the strangely named Othentic Spa, just outside Gourdon, about 25 minutes from Daglan.

After the mandatory shower and a bit of a warm-up swim, my wife and I were ready for the class. And so were the other eight participants, all women.

This is not quite the workout that I had when I was running 10-ks. We walked around the pool, we waved our arms under water, we pushed against the water with paddles, we kicked and jumped and stretched. The only occasional frustration was when I got stuck behind one of the three lumpy ladies (Les Lumpettes, I decided to call them) and found it slow going.

When it was all over, we had brief showers before getting dressed again. And this being Europe (where did you think France was, silly?), one of the ladies pulled down the top of her swimming suit while having her shower. Don’t get excited: no photos this time.
