The southern approach

So you’ve spent some time in St Pompon, and one day you decide to drive north. After a little more than five kilometres, you realize you are about to enter a village called Daglan. And you wonder, “Gee, what will it look like when I enter the village, using this southern approach?” And then you discover that it looks like this:
