Here’s looking at you, kid

This afternoon’s little drama occurred just north of Daglan, as we were returning by bicycle from an informal lunch in St Cybranet. At the fenced-in enclosure where we often see a large group of small goats (adults and kids), one of the kids had escaped — maybe by jumping the fence. It was all discombobulated, and kept running against the fence bleating, and then across the road into a grove of walnut trees. So got off our bikes, slowed down the traffic, and shooed the kid back towards his enclosure. He refused to let us near, but eventually trotted to the rear of the enclosure, near some woods. We never got him back with his family, but at least we moved him off the road and out of harm’s way. Here’s looking at you, kid.
