Hi Lesley, Yes — we put out what I think was “reasonable” (that is, somewhat worthwhile) “junk,”, like a portable radio and a combination radio/CD player/alarm clock that actually work! But I know what you mean about the quality of some vide grenier goods. Once I saw a woman wrapping up a tea cup, at the close of a vide grenier, because it hadn’t sold and she was going to try again. But the cup was stained and cracked — and should have been put out with the garbage a long time before! (I like the joke, by the way. Thanks.)

Do you put out your best junk if you are selling outside your own front door? I’d hate to have to admit that some of the stuff we see in some Vide Greniers is mine!
BTW heard a joke recently about the Clown who twists poodles into the shape of balloons.

Thanks, Lesley. Sorry I missed that, Suzanne — but it should have been jaune rather than jeune. And I like that you changed SICTOM into Sitcom, Lesley, because that’s usually how I read it (in my mind) when I see the word SICTOM on trucks around here!

Just had to comment Suzanne, that our bags are yellow rather than young! We have to practice the subtle difference of yellow hairs rather than young horses!
We could do with the SICTOM (or Sitcom) van round our way, some plasticy stuff goes in the yellow bag but some other plasticy stuff doesn’t and I often know I’ve got it wrong. My rubbish never looks like the photo in the booklet. I hope that they don’t sort it out on the collecting truck and KNOW where the bag bag came from. It might be brought back with a note to try harder.

A. Sorry, but the young lady in the truck was quite firm about how many rolls of bags were handed out. However — and I’m not sure if you knew this — but there are cardboard boxes full of these bags that are kept in the hallway of the mairie. So you can just help yourself!
B. Interesting idea. I shall confer with the Boss.

Thanks Keith. The good news is that the weather is supposed to be quite sunny and warm for today, tomorrow and Monday. The bad news is that we’re supposed to have heavy rain on Tuesday. That’s according to Météo France, so we shall see.

I too like to have a flower in the house. I tend to get mine in Marks & Spencer & they last a good 3 weeks. As far as carnations are concerned, if you are expecting a visit from Her Majesty the Queen I am informed she does not like them. I trust your good weather continues for my arrival in the GDA on Tuesday.
